Matted Pets

Matting is when your pets hair is tangled. There are different levels of matting:

1) Light tangles that can be brushed out with little effort.

2) Tighter tangles that will need to be split with scissors and then brush out.**   The area of hair that had the mat may be very thin and possibly red or sore.

3) Severe mats can be so extensive that it prevents air from getting to the skin. This type of mat can cause "hot spots" and must be shaved out.

**There will be an additional charge for brush outs - The charge is based on the amount of time it takes to brush out your pet.

Flea Control

If your pet comes in with fleas, we will treat your pet so he doesn't leave with fleas. You must do the following in order to prevent reinfestation:

1) Treat the vehicle you used to bring your pet to us.

2) Clean all of your pet's bedding and inside of your dog's house.

3) Treat your front and backyard, if you let your pet outside.

4) If your pet is an indoor pet, you must treat the entire house. (This includes carpet, furniture, bedding, etc.)

5) All Pets must be treated at the same time.

Proper Nutrition

Did you know that you should change your pet's food at certain ages for optimum nutrition? Your pet's food directly affects his skin and coat. Be sure your pets food has:

1) Antioxidants to destroy free radicals and to protect cells;

2) Fiber to keep his gastrointestinal tract healthy;

3) Flaxseed, which is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids; and

4) Glucosamine and Chondroitin for healthy joints and cartilage.
